Starting the School Year Right

It's been really a while. Hello folks! How are you?

Let me share to you some things I'm excited about and the challenges ahead.

June 3. Sad. It is. Excited. It is. Both co-exist and one will emerge dominant  for sure. We'll sum up at the end. Let us begin by answering the question "How was your summer goals"? As expected, I have never been to crazy places, sad, but my summer staycation was calm, renewing, full of reflections and it's all about family and love. And now, here I am, survived the first day high!. I'm happy with my new assignment as Grade 10 Diamond adviser, they are brilliant, and hope they will live with the expectations. I was also designated as the science coordinator, although hesitant to accept but I have no option. Now, bothered almost everyday about the things to be done, plans as coordinator and so on. But hey, what is worrisome and bothersome I am facing as of the moment? are the class schedules and the unavailability of classrooms. This is quite a challenge. Challenges and excitements mixed into one provide opportunities to innovate and develop even further. It will absolutely stretches your versatility and endurance and that's what I am thankful for.

I thank God for all these. Although I have disappointments, discouragements, and all negative tendencies. God, is working and keep me doing
despite my flaws and imperfections.

Hence, I must say, in my opinion, morality is relative and it is influenced by culture, tradition and beliefs of a certain individual. For instance, giving tip to someone who offers service may be acceptable in the Philippines but in Japan it’s a big no, the same case with asking ice for your water in the restaurants in the Philippines is quite okay but never do that in the country like France. Science Education Curriculum nowadays is in the row of unending issues and concerns particularly the quality being offered by the schools and the teachers. The bane now is the fact that it yields to the production of not competitive graduates, unable to demonstrate the supposed scientific skills. This problem is a major challenge to all schools across the globe since the demand of highly competitive graduates is increasing, while the supply is endangered. One root cause of the decreasing number of science graduates is the fading perceived interest of the students to take science courses; perhaps this is due to the teachers who failed to demonstrate how interesting science is and how it plays a significant role in the society at large.
